I am a long time artist and love the challenge of exploring new mediums to express my creativity. There is a thrill in seeing if I can do something I have never tried before or improving on things I have done in the past.

I officially started Kade's Customs in 2012 but the journey started much earlier. I started working on cars when I was a kid, usually it was my brother and I learning normal car maintenance with my father. Dad used to say you are going to learn these things and when you are older you can decide if you want to fix things or pay someone else to do it but you need to know how. This mentality was also pushed with building houses and home repair. When we were 5 or 6, we were tasked with doing demolition for home renovations. I suppose, for little boys, destruction comes naturally. All we needed were hammers and crowbars to take it to the next level. As we got into our teenage years, we started tinkering on 4x4’s and hot rods.
Tinkering on cars was always a great way to get some time with our father. This family time really ignited a passion for building and for the hobby and the community it creates. I always enjoyed working with my hands and once I got confident enough to start allowing my creativity to flow, I found my imagination and time were the only things that limited my plans.
I am a medical illustrator by trade so I guess you could say art has always been in my blood. I started Airbrushing in 2004 when I moved to Virginia at age 25. I used it as a way to make utilize my free time and learn a skill I had wanted to pick up. Welding and metal fab came much later. My parents bought me a welder for my 40th birthday and I think it was the best gift I have ever received. Now, every time I weld, it makes me think of them and usually gets me to call home just to say hello. I have had some great help along the way and met some good friends and mentors that have always been so gracious to take the time and let me ask for pointers.
Passion is contagious and continuous learning helps fuel and challenge me on the daily. I continue to push myself and love every minute of it.
